Stairs! For Rob Jones, President of Cabinets for Life, it all started with stairs in subdivisions and custom homes all over the Central Valley of California.

Rob worked alongside his father, Dave Jones, building all kinds of residential projects, but the focus back then, and their specialty, became stairs.  Why?  Because they’re very, very difficult and the Jones& Jones  father/son team were good at them.

So how did Rob get into cabinets?  Many things pushed Rob into cabinets; clients’ disappointment in the cabinets they were buying from the “big box” stores, the long, long delays and expense for custom cabinets, and the onset of technology, specifically CNC machines.

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines automate the processes that require exact specifications so cabinets hang straight, doors close smoothly, and the cabinet fronts look beautiful. And guess who happened to have a knack for CNC programming? That’s right, our very own Rob Jones, the “CNC Whisperer”.
